We are The Droppers. We play music. Here is an incomplete list of artists we cover:
Ray Charles, Sam and Dave, Elmore James, Sonny Boy Williamson, Louis Jordan, John Prine, Johnny Cash, James Taylor, Elvis Presley, Prince, Van Morrison, Bill Withers, Sam Cooke, Billy Preston, Tom Petty, The Beatles…it goes on. Oh, and Otis Redding, Ray Charles (did I say?…sorry), The Temptations, Marvin Gaye…
We enjoy funky music and we are noticing that so does everyone else. This music is timeless. These are the songs you forgot you loved. This is the music you grew up on. If you don’t like this kind of music, I feel sorry for you. And you can kiss my ass.
The Great Trey Johnson – vocals, guitar, harp
This boy can sing. Dropper number one. President of the Dropper Nation. A grown ass man. You can’t believe that sound is coming out of a skinny little white boy from Prescott, Arkansas.
Josh Lawrence – keyboards
Josh is not black but wishes like hell he was. He sounds like he just left church. Full gospel, sanctified. The kid can play. Crazy good. too much talent for one little Texarkana boy. Just listen – hear that? Damn.
Russell Roberts – drums
The old man – the guru – the white Oprah – Funky Buddha. Been doing it awhile, and can by God rock the house. Not scared. Butt nasty.
Don Colquitt – bass guitar, resident chef
The keeper of the groove, the reason your butt moves. Relentless. Stank nasty. Thick. Full grown man. All the way live. Big Daddy, Big Nasty, Big Everything.
That’s us. Got to hear it to believe it. Come out and listen…if you don’t like it, Trey will pay your tab.
